What are the 7 main Chakras
What’s a Chakra?
Well, different schools of thought might differ on the number of chakras they think are in your body but all of them will explain that chakra literally means “wheel” or “disk,” in Sanskit and chakras are energy centres within the human body. Some people say there are 114 chakras (energy centres) throughout your entire body, but there are seven main chakras starting at the base of you spine and ending at the crown of your head.
Each chakra corresponds to physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual states. When your chakras are aligned and working in harmony with one another, you feel like you’re “in flow.”
I’m not saying when your chakras are aligned you’re enlightened, life is perfect and everything is seamless. When your chakras are aligned you typically feel like you have more energy, you’re more clear, healthy and a little more vibrant.
I like to keep my blogs short and sweet, so consider this a high level overview of the chakra system or an intro to the chakras for beginners. I don’t want to overwhelm anyone here! There’s many books on the chakras, and for good reason - there’s a lot to know! Way more than I could ever share in a blog post, which is why I’m going over the basics. When I started writing this blog post, I realized I could write an entire blog post about each chakra and a blog post explaining which crystals balance which chakras, what foods balance certain chakras, how to meditate to balance your chakras, which yoga poses will help you balance certain chakras, which essential oils will help you balance certain chakras… the list is endless!
It was truly this blog post and a conversation with my friend Michelle that inspired me to curate a chakra series of Facebook Live chats for the Soul Squad starting in November, 2018!
The Soul Squad Community is a 6-week yoga and meditation program that includes yoga videos and meditation audios to help you build a daily meditation practice. The Soul Squad Community also has a private Facebook group where I host weekly chats! From November 14th - December 19th all six chats will cover the chakras and how to balance them them with oils, meditation, yoga and more! We even have a special guest speaker coming in one week to explain which crystals relate to which chakras and how you can use crystals to balance your chakras.

Your sixth chakra is found between the eyebrows. I usually refer to this as the surface of your third eye. But the root of your third eye is your pituitary gland.
